From all of the entries received, our judges have selected ten of the strongest. Five will compete each night of the competition and a total of six will earn a slot to play 30-minute sets at LouFest. Check out the set list for both nights below.

The competition shows at Off Broadway are all-ages and run from 5PM to 8PM. Tickets are only $5 and available online or at the door.

The wait is almost over! On April 3, LouFest will announce its 2012 lineup at a special event at Plush. Morning Teleportation and The Blind Eyes will provide the live music; LouFest will provide the lineup and more.

We’ll be spotlighting great young talent in our city on Saturday, June 2, and Saturday, June 9 at Off Broadway from 5-8pm each night.  On these two nights, local teenagers will compete for a chance to play LouFest 2012 on the side stage in Area K.

From all the entries received, twelve bands will be selected to compete. On each night of the competition, six will compete.  From all the finalists, six will earn slots to play 30‐minute sets at the festival.

To qualify, musicians must live within thirty miles of St Louis (63110) and the average age of all band members must be nineteen or younger.  Full details and entry form are available at LouFest.com/battleofthebands.

Planning for this year’s festival is heating up and we want to share a new opportunity to help. It’s a chance for volunteers like you to earn everything from festival merch to VIP passes and have a awesome time doing it.

The program is called the Lou Crew and it’s open to you and your friends to work fun LouFest-sponsored events throughout the spring and summer and earn prizes along the way. Events include “LouFest Presents” shows at Off Broadway and Firebird, the Earth Day festival in Forest Park, and many more. You’ll get access to the events for free and earn bigger prizes for every event you attend. For example, you’ll earn a free t-shirt with your first event, a signed limited edition LouFest poster with your second event, a free one-day pass to LouFest 2012 with your third event, and so on. Work enough events and you’ll score a free 2-day VIP pass, which is pretty darn sweet if we do say so ourselves.

We’re holding two short orientation sessions at the Schlafly Tap Room located at 2100 Locust St. to explain all the details. Volunteers are only required to attend one of these orientations: the first will be held at 7PM on Jan 18th and the second at 1PM on Jan 21st. It’s a chance to meet other LouFest volunteers and maybe grab a few pints (if you’re legal, of course).
